It is not a right wing conspiracy. In the collection of reconstruction photography, there is a picture of Rose, Edward, and Rebecca. They had been recently freed slave children who looked remarkably white. They were toured around as a fundraising effort for the Freedman Bureau's new schools. Today, Mary Mitchell from the University of New Orleans, to discuss this, and how the early schools for slave children fared and the challenges of education during the reconstruction era.
