I wish this had been published sooner! Absolutely correct. So true that the media has heavily promoted the need for a moderate, with no proof. Few want to go ahead and say that Bernie’s agenda is morally superior and would be of great benefit to poor blacks as well as poor whites and Latinos. Too bad. So we’ll get good old moderate Joe and miss the chance to actually progress. Well, I’ll vote for Joe With a big sigh.
I wish I had realized the entire problem with Joe "winning" is that voters think that he is more electable. I needed to canvass both in South Carolina and Flint. A family of Joe Biden voters (who were black) called him a racist POS. But, they said they would vote for him because he is more electable. Then, I realized, Bernie won on everything but the dumb electability narrative. I will keep hammering that over and over until it hits people.
Personally I don't think there is any way Biden will win. I think stopping Sanders is more important to the DNC and the centrist Democratic party establishment then winning. With Biden they loose an election, with Sanders they loose their "iron rice bowls."
I think you fail to engage with the corruption and credentialism that is involved in putting a bunch of people with pieces of paper in positions of trust over who can and can't keep their "guaranteed" job and under what conditions. Instead the people need to be trusted... and also the left needs to engage with the extent to which methane drastically warms the climate, putting us in far-greater danger of natural feedbacks to create a runaway shift in climate, instead of a bourgeois, Luntizian, focus on carbon-dioxide emissions.
Progressives will never win another presidential election because white people or conservatives control most states. Look at the political map for the USA. It is a sea of red. The progressive
Population resides on the coasts of our map. They might get the popular vote but never the electoral vote. The country is run by religious right and conservatives. When progressives move away from the cities and out into mid America and start winning the local and state houses which would take a century to do then maybe they might have a fighting chance. Democrats have to slowly move from the left towards the middle in order to change the majority of the voting system.Bernie means well but there too many religious right people and it will be impossible. Vote Biden and you will at least get almost there.
I'd say, especially in light of the last month, Progressives will never win another presidential election because they're married to a fundamentally-broken cisfeminist lens of identity politics. Having a penis is a far-better predictor of being killed by police than having Black skin, but instead we are exhorted to focus on the most-credentialled group of Americans, instead of the other intersections that also increased George Floyd's risk of death.
Trump voters think men (as defined either by assigned sex or avowed identity) are the most-oppressed group of Americans. I agree with them on the people who are being oppressed, with six times the sentencing gap observed for that between Black and white Americans in federal criminal cases, but I'm not-very-sure that it's manhood that's being oppressed.
Vote Biden and you pick the poster-child for the brand of hyper-policing that informs that sentiment among Trump voters.
PS: I bet you President Trump (still weird to say those words together) does better among Black voters in November than he did in '16.
Where is the constituency for centrist austerity? There simply isn't one. Centrists run the Democratic Party and have for decades, not progressives. The "sea of red" hates that centrist party because all they serve is austerity. We are seeing that right now with these coronavirus bills. House democrats: 20% of workers will get paid sick leave, but only if they have children. Trump: checks for every American. The democrats don't care Trump is looking more generous then they are? "More of the same" is what you are suggesting, and "more of the same" is what will never win.
So sad.

It is also not over. Joe Biden can barely string together two sentences. Regardless of ideology, he is not more electable.

Why does Medicare For all poll at 86% in Mississippi?
This sounds like the most twisted logic. There is a reason people spend billions on ads. That's because people can be persuaded.
