"Trotskyites have a long history of allying with imperialism and Western capitalist governments against actually existing socialist governments in the Eastern Hemisphere and Global South, which they invariably demonize as “Stalinist” and not truly socialist, because their academic theoretical purity always trumps material reality, and because Marxism for them is a perpetual game of No True Scotsman."

Some examples please of the socialist governments in the Eastern Hemisphere and Global South that Trotskyites helped Western capitalist to undermine.

Well said.

The world has felt weird since the plandemic. They thought we would comply to their v.a.c.c.i.n.e, meaning them having the entire planet taking the j.a.b two or four times a year, for ever, raking the W,.,.E.,.F the money in.

It was also the start of their modifying of our DNA, through the experimental vaccine. We will be guinea pigs for perverted psychopaths with a God complex. Their depopulation plan, to wipe out the old in the nursing homes, costing the government too much money.

Nobody's stupid enough to send old people back to their nursing homes, with a deadly virus and neither were our governments. They want to decrease the world's population by four BILLION people, and in a TV talk show interview, Mr Microsoft said, 'that target is easily achievable via v.a.c.c.i.n.e.s.” !!!

Trotsky was right about a few things. Communism/Socialism must be global without exception. Revolution must be perpetual, permenent.

Where all models fail us is in value systems. Collective human being must be highest value and its greater supportive ecology needed to sustain it second. We must start with this foundation because we are human beings and we must hold this bias. Slan

lol Stalin and every history book about the Soviet Union in the western world….might not of even had a Cold War had they killed Trotsky instead of expelling him.

Thanks for reporting this. I still wonder why anyone praises that trash the Reagans. Filthy nutters. Sorry not sorry-religion is the worst superstition ever created. Instead of helping humanity it oppresses controls and kills.

Reagan’s economic policy was akin to amputating a healthy limb. And drowning it in acid.

Thank you, Ben, for this insightful article. As a long-time union activist, I am ashamed of the role that the U.S. labor movement played, and continues to play, in spite of the best efforts of many committed left-labor activists.

For more about how the CIA has infiltrated the AFL-CIA, see my article, “Lane Kirkland, The Last Cold Warrior,” which first appeared in Z Magazine and has been reprinted numerous times.

Ben, I’m a member of the DSA and have been around the international committee too. I follow people like you so I’m the radical wing of the DSA. It was definitely upsetting for me to read this. But the international committee does some good interviews with people like Pavel Wargan who I think is a great Polish comrade who would agree with everything you said in this article.

There is no discussion on Socialism to be had anywhere within the US liberal democratic framework. I don't understand why people are still talking about an American “Left” This debate has formally been retired.

We're talking about moot in a fantasy world of “ya but what if there was a Left”

You cannot be a Democrat and be a Socialist it is clear as can be. They are formally exclusive things.

What you can be us Far Right or less Far Right. Start talking from there, Americans.

Communism is less a threat to Fascists than Socialism. Communism, like fascism, is authoritarian. Socialism is about freedom- the enemy of authoritarians.

Cory Buott (Ijiraq)'s avatar

Huh? Socialism is about equitable distribution and strength through collective. Communism is too.

Communism can be highly democratic like CPC and ten parties or so in mainland One China. The problem is that we refute direct democracy as non democratic. This is because we are conditioned to believe that Western Liberal Democracy ior Americanism the only kinds.

Freedom cannot be at the expense of others or it is imposition of inequity; not freedom. Ensuring we a share a common level of sustainable moderate prosperity is freedom.

The purest democratic process is application of QMS and it's quality control feedback loops to best serve the people; all people. This is technically purely authoritarian. Ironic eh

And you blame the “Left” for it ?

Alessandra Korap Munduruku, 38, is a member of the Munduruku Indigenous group of Sawré Muybu. She is the president of the Pariri Indigenous Association, which supports communities in the Tapajós River region. Alessandra previously worked as a teacher and, over the past decade, became involved in the fight against deforestation, hydroelectric development, and contamination of the Tapajós River. Initially, she encountered stiff resistance to a woman becoming involved in the movement to protect the territory, but she persisted and, gradually, changed the paradigm; she eventually became the first woman coordinator of the Pariri Indigenous Association. In 2018, Alessandra decided to study law to better represent and protect Munduruku communities and the Amazon rainforest from further illegal extraction by mining, logging, and drilling interests, and other threats to their territories.

Would I tick all of your boxes, or is there something missing?

- Anti-trust laws

- Nationalisation of key industries

- Taxes on the 1%

- Sanctions and embargoes on Israel and the UAE

- Phaseout of fossil fuels and subsequent investments into clean energies

- Healing and rebuilding what Robert Moses had destroyed (Walkable cities, public transit, HSR through a $3 trillion fund)

- Closure of tax loopholes and elimination of tax havens

- Establishment of strong social welfare net (Free education, housing-first policy, universal healthcare, etc…)

- Defunding and demilitarization of police departments

- Lifting of Cuban Embargo

- 70% cut to defence spending over 3 or 4 years

- Shuttering of all overseas bases

- Abolition of the UN Security Council

- Granting independence to Hawaii and Puerto Rico

- A loophole-free tax code

Great piece Benjamin. Krutchov Revisionism open the doors to the complete destruction of all the progress made by USSR and Eastern Europe socialism. Solidarnosc CIA backed coup was the perfect demonstration of the counter revolution in the counter revolution that will take place. A lot to study and learn for the future of the communist movement

Stalanism uses socialism as marketing propaganda the way America uses freedom and democracy to hide their imperialism and coercion. Being critical of Stalanism just feels like intellectual honesty. The Pepsi grift to American Coca Cola. Happy to hear why I'm wrong, but I hardly feel like we should defend clearly authoritarian anti-democratic governments. Otherwise we're just the flip side of those blindly defending American capitalism.

What you wrote is a complete nonsense with some elements of truth. I was an eyewitness to creation of Solidarity. Yes, at some point it was financed by CIA but you should research a meeting between Jaruzelski and Rockefeller that took place in New York in 1985. Also you have no clue whatsoever how the communists gain power in Poland after WW II. Keep up with writing nonsense!
